Privacy Policy
Your data is yours.
Effective date: March 4, 2026. Last updated: March 4, 2026.
Who we are
Link In Comments is based in California. We provide a service that saves, summarises, and organises links. You can reach us at hello@linkincomments.com.
What we collect
- Email address. Collected when you sign up or sign in. Used only to send you a magic link to access your account.
- Links you save. The URLs and any notes you add. This is the core of the service.
- Content fetched from those links. We fetch and process the content at each URL in order to generate a summary and topic tags on your behalf.
- Usage data. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It gives us aggregate data (page views, referrers) with no individual tracking.
How we use your data
- To provide the service: saving links, generating summaries, and letting you search and retrieve them.
- To send you authentication emails (magic links).
- To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
- We do not sell or share your data. We may use aggregated, anonymised insights (e.g. most-saved topics across all users) to improve the product — never linked to you personally.
- Your library is private by default. We do not make your saved links visible to other users unless you choose to share them.
Data storage
Your data is stored using Supabase, which uses infrastructure hosted on AWS in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We retain your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-preserving analytics with no cookies or personal data.
- AI summarisation providers — link content is sent to an AI provider to generate summaries. Content is not used to train models under our agreements with these providers.
Your rights (California residents — CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete. You can request that we delete your personal information. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@linkincomments.com.
- Right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies. We use a single session cookie for authentication purposes, which is necessary for the service to function.
Children
Link In Comments is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
