Agreement

By using Link In Comments ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is based in California ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Using the Service

Link In Comments lets you save URLs, generates summaries of the content at those URLs, and helps you search and retrieve your saved links.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We use passwordless authentication (magic links sent to your email) — keep your email account secure.

Your content

You own the links you save and any notes you add. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to fetch, process, and summarise the content at those URLs for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service does not infringe any third-party rights.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service to store or distribute illegal content.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

Beta service

The Service is currently in beta. This means it is free to use during the beta period, features may change, and we may experience downtime or bugs. We make no guarantee of uptime or feature availability during beta.

Pricing

The Service is free during the beta period. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give existing users advance notice and a reasonable transition period.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@linkincomments.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that summaries generated will be accurate or complete. AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience and may contain errors.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, during the beta period, is zero).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
